Director, Advisory Architecture

Location: Chicago, IL | Dallas, TX | New York, NY

Work Arrangement: Hybrid with occasional travel

Team Size: Approximately 4–6 direct team members

Salary: $150,000 - $190,000 with a 30% yearly bonus

Position Overview

We are seeking a Director of Advisory Architecture to lead architecture strategy and technical delivery for an advisory-focused business. This role combines enterprise solution architecture, cloud technologies, AI-assisted development, and Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE).

You will establish architecture standards and roadmaps while leading a team that works directly with business stakeholders to rapidly prototype solutions. A major focus is ensuring prototypes can transition into production environments without significant rework.

This position is ideal for an architecture leader who can balance enterprise architecture discipline with hands-on, rapid development and emerging AI technologies .

Key Responsibilities

• Own target architecture, standards, and technology roadmaps for advisory solutions.
• Design secure, scalable cloud-based business solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Improve development tools, templates, and processes to accelerate delivery from concept through production.
• Establish patterns for using AI agents to draft requirements, design solutions, and generate code with appropriate human review.
• Lead and expand a Forward Deployed Engineering model focused on rapid, business-embedded development.
• Partner directly with business stakeholders to prototype solutions, gather real-time feedback, and iterate quickly.
• Establish technical guardrails that allow prototypes to transition successfully into production.
• Partner with Product to determine which initiatives should use rapid FDE delivery versus traditional development processes.
• Identify recurring business needs that could become broader product roadmap capabilities.
• Track adoption, time-to-release, time savings, production conversion, and required rework.
• Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and UI/UX professionals.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of solution architecture, software architecture, or engineering experience.
• Experience delivering production systems within a large organization.
• Strong experience architecting cloud-based business applications .
• Hands-on experience with a CRM platform such as Salesforce , including data models, automation, integrations, and security.
• Working knowledge of integration architecture, data architecture, security, and governance .
• 3+ years of people leadership experience , ideally managing senior technical professionals.
• Experience rapidly prototyping working software directly with business users.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and agentic coding tools .
• Experience designing AI-enabled workflows involving concepts such as agent orchestration and tool use .
• Familiarity with modern rapid-development approaches, including low-code development, AI-assisted coding, and lightweight deployment .
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to evaluate priorities, manage competing demands, and communicate technical trade-offs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within commercial real estate, professional services, or another advisor/broker-driven environment .
• Previous experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar embedded technical role .
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Replit .
• Experience with rapid deployment platforms such as Railway .
• Advanced Salesforce experience with Flow, Lightning Web Components, Apex, or Salesforce certifications .
• Experience partnering with UX/design teams on business-facing applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and source control practices for CRM platforms .
• Experience building a new technical team or capability within an established enterprise.
